PapyrusClubs

PapyrusClubs Program is a novel initiative from NetLink Technologies in association with Deccan Chronicle with a goal to enable all Schools and Colleges to publish their own online campus newspapers. It was launched on 12 August 2007.

In today’s digital age, information generation, collation and publishing on the internet have already become the norm. Using this as a trend setter, the PapyrusClubs program, wanted to create a user friendly, technology savvy framework for students in Schools and Colleges to create and publish their own campus newspapers. What started as an experiment has now become a powerful tool in the hands of students.

NetLink Technologies Ltd., a Deccan Chronicle Company, has researched the best ways of publishing news on the net and the results are manifest in www.papyrusclubs.com

This website has a membership of over 650 Educational Institutions consisting of Schools and Colleges spread across the three states in South India, viz. Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. These institutions together represent a student population of nearly one million.

Over 150 institutions have put their own Campus newspapers as on date and the numbers are increasing. Each paper is unique in its caption, content and quality.

NetLink Technologies Ltd. Facilitates publishing by first training an Editorial Team in each institution about the various aspects of newspaper publishing. Then, the team is trained on how to compose articles, edit the same and finally publish it, within a time frame of less than a few hours.

The paper has number of user friendly features. It permits upload of articles in text format, images, audio bits and video clips too. The publishing methodology is simple and has a built in work flow to ensure that proper, edited and timely content is published periodically by each of the member institutions.

The membership is being offered free for those institutions which are committed to undertake this activity based program and publish with regularity and seriousness. By end 2008, the membership is expected to grow to over 1000 institutions.
